Leptis Magna
Leptis Magna was created by the Phoenicians about 1100 BC, and
it rose to become a major trading post during the first couple of centuries
AD. It faded over time and by about 650 AD was abandoned. It is located
in Libya, about 80 miles east of Tripoli on the Mediterranean Coast.
