Holy Roman Empire

Below are the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, this beginning with the installation of Otto I in 962, including the years of their reign.  What is shown is the relationship between those emperors and me based on who has so far been identified as the closest ancestor.  Since there are multiple lines of descendants from the earlier emperors, there remain unexplored lines which might, if developed, result in closer relationships to the later ones.  Of these emperors, the most recent ancestor is John of Gaunt, son of Edward III of England.

*The relationships shown for the monarch and for the closest known relative will not always appear to be consistent.  This is because I descend from more than one child of some of the more distant ancestors, and the number of generations between him and each of the siblings is frequently different.
